About MAJIA LEE

Woman in white dress and black heels leaning on a stone railing outdoors.

BACKGROUND

Majia Lee is the creator of Embodi. Her work explores how eating distress, physical illness, and lack of body jurisdiction emerge for a vast number of reasons — none of which include personal failure. Instead, a society that does not honour the in-between spaces between the physical and symbolic worlds disrupts bodies that need this separation clearly defined. When that separation collapses, the symbolic makes itself known in the literal — as compulsive behaviour and physical symptoms.

She knows this territory from the inside. Her own relationship with food and her body became the long, distressing question that eventually led her here — toward a different understanding of what the body is actually wants, and why.

Drawing from somatic psychology, archetypal psychology, attachment theory, neuroscience, and ecological thinking, Majia developed a body-based framework that restores the generative capacity of the human body , while reducing compulsive tendencies that sabotage one’s health. Her approach works with the intelligence of the body and the symbolic life of the psyche, while questioning cultural and familial narratives that interfere with regulation, discernment, and trust.

Through her writing and teaching, she invites people to step out of urgency-driven approaches to food and body — and return to rhythm, process, and embodied aliveness.

EDUCATION

Majia Lee holds a master’s degree in psychology and completed doctoral studies in Somatic and Archetypal Psychology, with research focused on creative emergence and self-organizing systems in human development.

Her education spans multiple embodied and relational modalities, including advanced training in Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSI), the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Trauma and Stress Releasing Exercises (TRE),  Eating Disorder Recovery Coaching, and Non-Directive Play therapy for youth.

Across her writing and teaching, Majia focuses on restoring jurisdiction to the body, reactivating imaginal life, and identifying the conditions that support genuine choice, agency and the embodiment of emergent possibilities — without relying on urgency, rescue, or moralized control.

Majia is not a psychotherapist, nor does she call herself a coach. Instead, she tends to sit in the in-between spaces — helping you govern the conditions so that what has been waiting underneath, your birthright, can finally surface.
